About me
I am Rebecca from Melbourne, Australia, originally from a cold little island state dangling off the bottom of the country (otherwise known as Tasmania).
Catfacehorse was named after an ill-fated hobby horse I created for a game of Monkey Magic with my sister. We had an old broom handle, but needed a horse’s head to complete it. At about ten years old, a horse’s head was a bit too tricky for me to draw, so I looked around me resourcefully. Aha! An empty catfood box! A pair of scissors and some sticky tape later, and I had a hobby horse with the large face of an orange tabby cat. It’s a good reminder not to get hung up on the technicalities and get playing.
Catfacehorse is my little space for sharing paintings, things made by hand, and the all-important inspirations. I am striving to do things well, to learn and to enjoy myself. I’d love to hear about what you are trying too, so leave a comment or drop me an email or say hi on Twitter.
